    Shinsuke was a little “homophobic”, but not in an outwardly way, more like as a defense mechanism since he used to get shit for being a tiny dude 😅 being bullied set him off on a whole complex. During high school, Shinsuke let’s his anger get the best of him and gets thrown in jail where he meets Rukio. Shinsuke is unable to pinpoint his attraction towards him and acts in a defensive manner, which eventually leads them from being enemies to fwb. With Rukio being a 6”1, rigid demeanor dude, Shinsuke sees this as a huge accomplishment, this helps out with his insecurities a lot. When released from juvenile hall and ending up in the same class for their GED, he continues to deny having feelings for Rukio. All that denial comes raining down on him like crazy once Rukio gets engaged, he realizes he took it all for granted. On their last day before graduation, Shinsuke gives Rukio a confession letter before moving to another city where he will try to forget about everything
